We Are TEAO Canada.

Our vision is to become Canada’s first Trauma Health and Embodiment Center (THEC), a national hub where trauma is healed in body, spirit, and community. We want to create a space where care is not a privilege but a right and systems are held accountable to root justice in wellness.

Our Roots

  • Deconstructing power dynamics and evolving the role of frontline workers, teachers, practitioners, etc…

  • Working with stigmatization and creating environments that don’t mirror trauma into our communities.

  • Encouraging the ideaology that healing starts with our bodies.

  • Communicating and advocating for the community to create systemic change.

  • Acknowledging and working from the cracks within the mental healthcare system.

  • Integrating service delivery, ensuring the right healthcare is given to the right client.

  • We honour each person’s right to reclaim their voice, story, and healing journey.

  • We commit to honesty, accountability, and compassionate presence in all relationships and systems we touch.

  • We recognize trauma lives in the body, spirit, and community — our practices integrate psychotherapy, somatic care, ancestral knowledge, and peer support.

  • Healing is relational. We create spaces rooted in interdependence, connection, and belonging.

  • We embrace the fullness of cultural, racial, spiritual, and ancestral identities. We act with equity, inclusion, and justice at the centre.

  • We acknowledge that trauma is not only individual but systemic. We commit to disrupting oppression and co-creating equitable systems.
