REPORTS
TEAO’s vision is to transform mental health in Canada one community at a time by integrating service delivery and ensuring the right health care is given to the right client.
The Trauma and Embodiment Association of Ontario is a charitable organization that aims to break the stigma and create a community where people have equal opportunities to thrive, especially those dealing with trauma, crisis, mental illness, or addictions, providing them with a judgment-free space to recover. We believe that this transformation should happen through a forward-thinking vision and embodiment mindset while working with trauma, mental health, and addictions.
At TEAO, we believe that by creating awareness, we can build stronger communities. We can create networks of support that weave through health care, youth services, the justice system, social services, and municipal programs. We aim to erase the stigma and develop understanding by opening the door to a brighter, healthier future for people dealing with trauma, mental health problems, and addictions.

STRATEGIC PLAN: 2022-PRESENT
We are currently operating as an outreach initiative and working towards a seamless-like approach when it comes to integrating services to what we define as historically ignored communities and people. When it comes to leaders, frontline, and first responders they too, may have been normalized in keeping face, not cracking under pressure, not speaking of things that happen in the workforce or day-to-day responding to crisis and may have just normalized it as part of the job" thus the impact.
-
To expand its reach, TEAO focuses on proactive outreach and professional training to equip partners with the necessary tools for impact. These efforts are designed to ultimately increase community awareness and strengthen the collective response to mental health needs.
-
TEAO enhances the member journey by facilitating effective referrals and hosting specialized educational events. These initiatives are tailored to provide both youth and adults with the knowledge and support systems they need to thrive.
-
TEAO ensures long-term stability by fostering safer spaces and team-building sessions that support a healthy internal culture. This is further bolstered by diverse revenue generation, robust volunteer training, and a commitment to transformative justice and anti-harassment policies.
-
The financial health of the initiative is maintained through a combination of event-based grants and annual fundraising efforts. Additionally, the model incorporates billed services to create a steady and diversified stream of income.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY: 2022-PRESENT
We have been busy planning and organizing our initiative as a movement in the community, one that has been constructed against the grain as to how we heal systemically towards CHANGE.
